day 150: vaughn and nolan's relationship

Vaughn loves Nolan but also loves to hurt Nolan. Even when he's hugging and loving on him, it's a little rough. We're working on that!

day 149: water fun

We love playing out in the backyard when it's not too terribly hot and the water out of the hose isn't quite scolding yet.

Nolan just started to stand on his own basically today and I happened to have my camera!

day 148: puppets!

Vaughn wanted to do a puppet show for me. He made me sit while he built the stage and got out his puppets. This is summer!

day 147: future homebuilder?

When Vaughn starts playing with something, he becomes very inventive. I'm seriously impressed at what he can do and what he can build. Today, he built a log cabin ALL BY HIMSELF with the kit granddad bought him. Maybe we have a future home builder on our hands!

day 146: summer fun

We love that there are so many splash pads around us. It's the best free entertainment and activity around especially in the smoldering heat.

DAY 145: farewell to a good friend

Vaughn met Jayce when he was only five months old. They have become the bestest of buddies always playing so well together. It was amazing at how well they shared when they weren't supposed to be sharing yet and didn't with other kids. We have gotten to do so much with Jayce and his family over these past three years!

Jayce and his family moved to Iowa this past weekend. They are moving to be closer to family and for schools. We had one last play date together where the boys got to be silly. As always, they had a great time. We will miss our friends very much but are excited for what their future has in store for them!
We tried very hard to get a picture at the end but Vaughn was over tired and just pure crazy. This will do!

day 144: summer pool days with Cam and Crew

Vaughn has a friend named Camden. We've actually known (of) Camden since before he was one because he used to go to the same story time as us. We didn't actually know them. It's crazy that I even remember remember him on his first birthday as he came to celebrate at story time. Eventually we met through a little play group and this is how I found Vaughn's preschool. Since February, they've been in school together which has been awesome!

Over the past year or so, we've gotten to know their family a little more and we're excited to get to know them even more by going to the pool together every week! Also, Camden is a LOT calmer than Vaughn so it's nice for him to see how calm friends act. They are really starting to play well together!
I got terrible pictures with my point-and-shoot but this was from our first pool day.

*This was all Vaughn - he loves taking pictures! How cute is Cam?

And these are from Cam's mommy - she got much better pictures.
Camden has a little brother, too! He's just two months older than Nolan. They're not quite at the playing together phase, but I'm sure they'll get there soon!
 Hi little buddy!

day 143: cheese

It's official! One of Nolan's first words is, "Cheeeese!" It sounds more like "Cheeeee"

I love this kid!

day 142: vaughn-mommy time

Sometimes after dinner, I will take Vaughn somewhere to have some one-on-one time. It's not usually long, but long enough.

Going to the splash pad in the evening is fun except when Vaughn gets naked and runs from me all over the park all the while laughing hysterically.
 My silly little boy!
He finally put clothes on - himself!

He looks like a sad Precious Moments here. His eyes are not even fair!

day 141: special evenings

Some nights, it's nice to go for a walk or out to eat.
Nolan is not the easiest little guy to get into his seat! He wants to be turned around so badly but we're going to try to keep him backwards until he's two.

 Our grass needs cut!

day 140: Nolan-Mommy time

It's rare that Nolan and I get one-on-one time, but we try too. He basically just likes to eat!
