day 221: Nolan is 16 Months!

 Nolan's world at 16 months:

• Walking: He's officially a walker. As of yesterday, he stands up on his own and prefers to walk, zombie style. 
• Happy: Very rarely is he crying. Instead, he's often full of smiles and still laughs a lot. He's even smiling at strangers now! 
• Shy: I tried taking him to the gym, and the stranger anxiety is still there. He gave me 27 minutes!  At church, he makes it through the whole service.
• Fighter: He's becoming a little bit of a fighter, only with Vaughn. He'll randomly throw a few punches or loves slapping his face. This could be in self-defense though! 
• Shadow: Where Vaughn is, Nolan is not far behind him. They are beginning to play really well together. They love pushing things up and down the hall.
• Scaredy cat: if a toy moves or talks on its own, Nolan freaks out! He doesn't care for animals either. At the site of something moving, he climbs up my chest and grabs onto me very tight. His whole body tenses up! 
•  He loves Little Gym! We're not sure if we're going to join for the season because it's not close and it's a little expensive, but he absolutely loves it. It has really helped him become more social and not so much of a mama's boy. 
• He's becoming a picky eater :( I can only get him to eat fruit, rolls and tomato sauce

Saying/Signing:
He says a bunch of words that probably only we can understand. His favorites are: Bubble, balloon, ball, Mama  (says this about 1,000 times a day), Dadd-O (daddy is now Dadd-O or he sometimes calls him Dave), go, car and truck. We're still working on a word for Vaughn.
The signs he uses most are: all done, milk, more, eat, bath, sleep/night night, star and book.

Teething:
Total Count: Eight in the front, four molars in the back. Almost a full mouth. Still need those eye-teeth!!!

Nicknames: 

Now it's just nugget instead of Nolan nugget 

Bubba

Nuggeteer (Dave calls him this) 

Nyo Nyo (crew calls him this)

Growing:
Of course! He still has a huge head. He and Vaughn wear the same hat. He's wearing 12 month clothes but they're getting snug. I'm about to pull out the 18 month bin this week even though he already has been wearing quite a bit!

Sleeping:
He is still a champion sleeper sleeping from 6:30p/7:00p at night until 8:00a/8:30a in the morning. He takes one nap in the afternoon anywhere from one to three hours. If he has pants on, he seems to sleep longer! We sing "You're My Sunshine", "This Little Light of Mine" and sometimes, "The More We Get Together" before he lies down. Daddy reads him lots of books. I put him down for naps; Dave puts him down at night. He LOVES his bed. He starts signing "night night" around 6:30/6:45 if he's had his bath.

Singing and Dancing: 
Favorite songs are: "If All of the Raindrops (were lemon drops and gum drops)", "You Are My Sunshine", "Caterpillar, Caterpillar", and "The More We Get Together"

Moving: 
Walker...very cool!!! And wanting to walk and go wherever he wants...not so cool.
