Baby's First Valentine's Day

***4  MONTHS***
Vaughn celebrated his first Valentine's Day. At our play groups this week, Vaughn got his first Valentine's Day cards. He got a hand-crafted dinosaur card from Ryder, a Pluto card from Mia, a ducky card from Michael, a Dora card from Addi, a Cars card from Landin, a Dinosaur card from James, a picture card from Bubba Vance and a pop-up heart balloon card from Piper. Aunt Nay Nay sent us a fun photo card, too. Many of the kids had fun snacks, but Vaughn didn't partake in any of those. He definitely will next year. Vaughn helped me cut out hearts to make Baby Elmo Valentine's Day cards. Vaughn also made his first hand print card that he sent to Grammy. He did a great job at opening his hand and not getting the paint everywhere.

Today, he was a happy boy all day long. It all started at church. We had service in the Family Room again but are very close to putting him in Baby Rays. Then, we went to our weekly breakfast spot, Nick's Diner. Dave thinks they have the best ham ever. We will have to give Vaughn some when he's old enough.

Once we got home, the boys took a nap on the couch while I made some salsa and pasta salad for our Valentine's Day BBQ. One of the Stroller Strides instructors, Regina, invited all the moms, babies and husbands over to her, Mike and Addi's house for a little picnic. We couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous day! It was a sunny 78 degrees. Including us, there were five couples and five babies. Vaughn was the youngest but will soon be crawling around, playing in the sand, playing in the ball pit, swinging and sitting in the yard. Even though he can't do all those things, he still had a lot of fun with his new friends. Daddy played bean bags and us girlies had some fun conversations as always.

Today was definitely a day filled with love. Love for our four month old and for each other.
