Day 10: Happy Nine Months to our little Nolan

This is what we randomly call him:
  • monkey, little monkey
  • nugget
  • sweetheart
  • little man
What Nolan is up to nowadays:
He claps, laughs at about anything, is starting to get up on his knees to crawl, is pretty content just sitting in the middle of the room watching Vaughn or playing with toys, and he is just an all around content little baby. Oh my goodness is he a little cuddler! I thought Vaughn was but Nolan is even more. He loves to just grab on tight to our necks and around our shoulders. His favorite thing to do is put his face right up against mine and just listen to me breath - at least that's what I think he's doing. It makes me feel so loved.

He said what?:
He says "mama" and "dada" all the time. Dave and I both agree that he definitely associates "ma ma" with me and is slowly associating "da da" with Dave. I feel like he responds with "ya" and "nah", too. It could be just a coincidence that those sounds come out of his mouth when appropriate. He also growls a lot. We've tried to catch it on video multiple times but we've been unsuccessful.

Chompers:
He has four teeth - two on the bottom and two on the top. The top ones are just about fully in. Not sure what else he's working on but it's something because he drools like crazy

Is he Growing?:
His weight has been all over the place, mainly on the low side. At his nine month appointment he was 18lbs, 7oz! He's on the charts and looking good. His height is at 28.5 inches and head is 18.5 inches. My doctor doesn't really go over percentages as long as they're moving up so I looked them up - 10th % for weight, 50th % for height,  and 90th percentile for head circumference. He sure does have a big head but that's for a bigger brain to fit in his cranium, right??!

Mobility:
As mentioned, he is starting to crawl. He puts his hands down from sitting, puts one knee on the ground and keeps the other in front of him then he moves himself forward. Just before his nine month birthday, he started pulling himself up to standing on his own as well. It's been nice with him not moving too much but those days are slowly disappearing. Before we know it, he'll be running all over this house!
